The celebration of Medical Laboratory Professionals’ National Day was held on April 19^th, 2025, at the Pasteur Institute of Iran to honor medical laboratory professionals and highlight the vital role of medical laboratories in the healthcare system. During the lectures, the importance of medical reference laboratories for timely disease diagnosis, epidemic monitoring, and the development of advanced technologies like NGS was emphasized. The event also underscored the need for greater collaboration between the Pasteur Institute of Iran and disease control centers and the significance of laboratories in disease surveillance and data collection within the healthcare system was discussed. Furthermore, the institute’s groundbreaking contributions to biotechnology since the 1990s and its historic role in the development of this field across the country were highlighted.
