Selection of a Faculty Member of the Pasteur Institute of Iran as an Advisor to the WHO in the Advisory Group on the Elimination of Schistosomiasis

The first official meeting of the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Advisory Group on Schistosomiasis was held on July 31, 2026, under the direction of the organization's headquarters in Geneva, with the participation of some of the most prominent experts and scientists from leading scientific and health institutions around the world.
In this meeting, Dr. Sana Eybpoosh, epidemiologist and head of the Department of Water- and Food-borne Diseases at the Center for Communicable Disease Control of Iran, participated as a selected advisor to the WHO in this advisory group and contributed to the review of strategic issues related to the control, elimination, and prevention of the re-emergence of the disease.
