The Scientific Partnership between Pasteur Institute of Iran and the Ministry of Science and Technology of Venezuela
In the meeting of Dr. Rahim Sorouri, Director of Pasteur Institute of Iran, and Dr. Gabriela Jimenez, Vice President and Minister of Science and Technology of Venezuela, the parties emphasized on expanding cooperation.
In the beginning of this meeting, Gabriela Jimenez expressed her gratitude the Pasteur Institute of Iran for exporting BCG and Hepatitis B vaccines to this country. He stated to extend the scientific and technical cooperation with Pasteur institute of Iran and hope that the export of vaccines produced by Pasteur institute of Iran can continue to Venezuela. She said that during the visit of her colleagues to the Pasteur Institute of Iran, she had been informed of the technical and scientific capacities of this center.
In this meeting, Dr. Rahim Sorouri, while expressing the capabilities of Pasteur Institute of Iran, placed emphasis on the promotion of cooperation between Pasteur Institute of Iran and the Ministry of Science and Technology of Venezuela in the fields of production, research, and education.
Furthermore, the Director of Pasteur Institute of Iran and that of Venezuela Scientific Research Institute, by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), expressed their desire for a sustainable scientific partnership in the field of vaccines and other pharmaceutical products, biological research, as well as improving educational systems based on the best national and international standards.
Earlier on the same day, Dr. Mahdi Paryan, the Deputy Director of Production of the Pasteur Institute of Iran, and Dr. Jesus Brito, the Deputy Minister of Science and Technology of Venezuela, had a meeting in which they both emphasized on the cooperation of the two countries. The Deputy Director of production of Pasteur Institute of Iran announced the readiness of Pasteur Institute of Iran to export vaccines, diagnostic kits, and injection solutions, and discussed the readiness of Pasteur Institute of Iran to hold workshops and training courses in the field of quality control, ensuring vaccine quality, the production and formulation processes of biological products and vaccines, and the technology transfer of vaccines.
