The production and research complex of Pasteur Institute of Iran was founded in 1988 on the Tehran Karaj Highway. It was established to meet the increasing population demand for products such as various solutions and vaccines and providing requirements for research like different laboratory animals .
Nowadays, this complex produces biological products such as B.C.G, Hepatitis B and animal rabies vaccine and recombinant products such as erythropoietin, streptokinase and interferon alpha. As all the products of this complex are produced and controlled by current international standards, they have the capacity to supply international markets.
Objectives and Strategy

  • Manufacturing of new products (including vaccines or products for promotion of health in society)
  • Focus on products with economic added value
  • Reduction of production costs
  • Exports
  • Reliance on local knowledge (inter-organizational or within the country)
  • Usage of technology transfer methods
  • Development of technological cooperation (with foreign or domestic firms)
