WHO Renewed Pasteur Institute of Iran’s Status as Collaborating Center for Rabies Reference and Research

Following an official notification from the World Health Organization (WHO) transmitted by the General Directorate of International Affairs of the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, the title of "WHO Collaborating Center for Rabies Reference and Research" for the Rabies Department of Pasteur Institute of Iran has been extended for another four years (until 14 July 2030). Pasteur Institute of Iran, which had regained this strategic position in 2023 after a hiatus in previous years, has once again secured the endorsement of this supreme global health body for another four-year term, relying on round-the-clock efforts, unique scientific capacities, and adherence to international standards. This renewed extension reaffirms the institution's pivotal role and scientific authority in training, specialized diagnostics, applied research, and the advancement of the surveillance system and rabies elimination in Iran and the Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMRO).
