Pasteur Institute of Iran Teams Conducted Field Surveillance of Wildlife-Borne Diseases

Field surveillance of wildlife-borne diseases, particularly those associated with rodents and fleas, is one of the ongoing missions and historical mandates of the Pasteur Institute of Iran. In recent years, this mission has been pursued within the framework of emerging and re-emerging disease surveillance programs, led by the Department of Epidemiology and the Research Center for Emerging and Re-emerging Diseases of the Pasteur Institute of Iran. In line with the surveillance of these diseases across the country, research teams composed of laboratory and field personnel from the Pasteur Institute of Iran conducted sampling of wild rodents and their associated arthropod vectors over a two-week period in October 2026 across various areas of Zanjan and Hamadan provinces.
