National Conference on Epidemiological Studies of Aedes-Borne Diseases in Iran and the World
On July 2nd, 2024, a national conference on the Management of Surveillance, Diagnosis, Treatment, and Prevention of Dengue Fever with a One Health Approach was held at the Shahid Modarres Hall of the Pasteur Institute of Iran.
Dr. Rahim Sorouri, the director of the Pasteur Institute of Iran opened the conference with a short lecture on the importance of the topic and the prevalence of Dengue Fever in the world and Iran. Other experts also presented information on the following topics:
-Risk factors for the expansion of Aedes mosquitoes
-The level of risk announced by the World Health Organization
-The role of asymptomatic patients in the transmission of Dengue Fever
-The role of circulating serotypes in the severity of Dengue Fever
-The latest approved vaccines for Dengue Fever and Chikungunya
-The distribution status of Dengue Fever, Chikungunya, and Zika in the Eastern Mediterranean region and the world
-The latest status of infestation by invasive Aedes mosquitoes in the provinces of Iran
-Predictive models on the spread of Aedes mosquitoes in Iran
-The latest status of reported Dengue Fever cases following the epidemic in the UAE
